Living in the In Between
They say that extremities are not good.
When I’m too tipsy, things get reckless, stupid, and dangerous. Yet, sobriety is equally distasteful. For it feels as though the pixie dust has settled into a heap. Sense & sensibility takes over. Practicality prevails, chokes and asphyxiates.
But the In Between – the magical place between intoxication & clear-headedness – is a liberating place to be.
When you are in that place, deep, dark thoughts are cajoled, coerced out and carefully laid upon the table. The emotions are raw and real, there is no pretense. These are what makes you human, these are what makes you alive.
I want to just live in the In Between.
